happy thanksgiving!

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, (literary, it's tomorrow!) there's the question of what to wear. Stay safe with jeans and a nice blouse, or to be somewhat daring and wear a patterned dress. Oh, the possibilities! While I'm leaning towards a cute/different outfit, I still want to be comfortable. After all, it will be a long day. I'd love to hear what you're all wearing, and possibly get some inspiration. Or, if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving you can just include any outfit of your choice. Such a short blog post but I promise I'll be writing more soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Even if you don't celebrate it. :)

a stroll in the park

I could imagine wearing this outfit during a stroll in a city park. I really love the color of the jeans, the hue is so girly yet elegant and mature. The classic black cardigan is comfortable and stylish- a perfect mix. I chose to add a smoky gray scarf fit for the winter weather. The dark red purse is the accent of this piece, the one item that really stands out. Embellished with two zebra heads it adds a unique flair to this outfit.

polka dots

Polka Dots.
  Polka Dots!
   Isn't it a fun word to say? :)
   It's also a trend I love.
   So, today I showcase some of my favorite polka dot outfits.
  { Inspiration: Teen Vouge's style report. All pictures from teenvouge.com}

1} I envy Bonnie Barton's look. It's cute, elegant, and vintage. It's down right cute.

2.} This skirt is just..wow. Doina totally pulls off
this outfit. I absolutely adore the skirt- its vibrant, colorful and so flattering.

3.} Who knew polka dots could look so classic and elegant! But then the shoes, they are so bold, an unexpected touch.

4.} I never really though polka dot pants could look good....that was until I saw Rin pair them with such a pretty blouse! This looks so chic- perfect for a day of boutique shopping.

What are your thoughts on polka dots? Which style is your favorite (1,2,3,4) ?

polyvore

I had originally posted this on a review blog I created but no longer use.

Polyvore is the perfect outlet for fashionista's and designers alike, or anyone who loves being creative. You can create sets, and with tons of items to choose from, the posibilites are endless. You have the ability of providing your location (ex. what country you're from, etc.) but it is not required. You can also write a short "about me" which is public and will appear on your profile.

You get freedom on Polyvore. You can name your sets, and write descriptions about them. You can comment on other user's sets. In my personal experience, I have never seen anyone misuse this freedom, but chances are someone has since Polyvore is quite popular.

An interesting aspect of Polyvore is that all of the items posted are linked to the website where they can be bought at. I find this to be pretty smart because hey, someone might see an item they liked in a set and they can go buy it!

Another great aspect of Polyvore is the "Style Advice" section. You can ask any sort of fashion-related question (with exact requirements and everything) and get an answer or two within a few minutes. The average response wait is posted on the side column and is updated frequently. Therefor, you'll know about how long it should take for you to get a response.

There's so much to do on Polyvore! In addition to creating sets and asking/answering style questions; you can also join groups, enter contests, and shop!

I highly recommend this site for any artsy person 13 years old and up.

That's it for now, folks! :)

Have you visited Polyvore.com? Thoughts?

beige sweaters and cashmere scarfs

Love the Look { 1 }

I love love love this look. The jeans. The beige sweater. The cashmere scarf. The seude booties. This outfit totally inspires me. My favorite piece is the booties. They are just so cute, plus since there a neutral color they can mix with tons of looks. Even the background is perfect, it fits in with the fall look. Not to mention the fact that the model, Nanda Polly S. is absolutely gorgeous! She even has a blog.

Would you wear this type of outfit?

cheese Cake = Yum.

While picking up cheese pizzas and cal-zones for dinner, I noticed these cute little servings of cheese cake inside the display. Since we had agreed that I could get a desert, I chose one. Quick, yummy, and fulfills a chocolate craving. And tell me that little bit of fudge at the top isn't just adorable?! :)
Sorry for the dim lighting!

I would also like to take the time to thank all of the Veterans. What you do/have done is absolutely amazing   and you have so much courage. After picking up dinner, we stopped by a gas station. Inside they were giving out free cookies to all veterans. Even though my mother's father was a veteran, she paid for the cookies. She said that she's an honest person and it was the right thing to do. I thought that was so sweet. The cookies were good and I shared one.

Happy Veterans Day!

How did you spend your Veterans day?

P.s. First blog post! :D
